FAQ
Frequently asked questions
The essentials to understand how SovereigntyMap assesses cloud dependency.
What is the sovereignty score?
A 0–100 score measuring how much an organisation's digital infrastructure depends on non-EU providers. The higher the score, the more sovereign the organisation.
Where does the data come from?
From public technical signals: DNS records, mail servers (MX), website hosting, CDN and detected trackers. No private data is collected. See the Methodology page.
How often is the data updated?
Assessments are refreshed regularly from public technical signals. Score history is being progressively enriched and remains freely accessible.
How do I get the SovereigntyMap label?
The label distinguishes organisations with no critical dependency, EU-hosted data and validated transparency. Details on the Label page.
Can an organisation influence its score?
No. Scores rely solely on objectively measured technical signals. No provider or organisation can buy or alter its ranking.
Is there an API?
Yes. See the API page for documentation and access details.
Is the data reusable?
Part of the data is published as open data. See the Open Data page for available datasets and the licence.
